Updates: Life on a Sandbar

I am . . .

deciding whether to get a second job or whether I can motivate myself into making and selling wares.
sucking down coffee after a superiorly lazy weekend.
wishing for cold weather and SNOW!
in need of a haircut. Desperately.
loving the rain, but missing the runs.
wanting a vacation in the mountains.
dumfounded that someone asked me if the Visitors Bureau is related to travel and tourism.
hating small town politics.
wishing to be just a face in the crowd.
amazed it’s almost September. Where did the summer go?
not ready for hurricane season. Yikes!
still trying to organize my tiny apartment, six months later.
wishing I was back in bed snuggling my loves.
looking for new music. Any suggestions?
procrastinating at work.
in need of another cup of coffee.
officially awful at sewing.
stuck here on purpose.

Hatteras Island and All Seven of Its Villages

Last week I spent a few days in the southern part of Dare County Outer Banks on Hatteras Island. My co-worker and I drove around filming and shooting places for a fall tv commercial and our 2013 travel guide. I don't have any video to share, since he was the handyman behind the camera, but here is a preview of the photos.

Hatteras Island is a quirky little place. It is made up of seven little villages: Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras. Each unique in its own sense.

Fueled by working watermen, dockside fishers, vacationers, and full timers looking for a place off the beaten path. Most miss the charm of the island as they drive straight through on their way to the ferry for Ocracoke. Their loss. It's a wonderful little place, if you take the time to look.

Wanted: New running friends

20 something semi-active female looking for running partner. Preferably young female. Strictly running, friendship oriented. Warning: I am hard to motivate and often unwilling to compromise on schedule/time. I like to run in the evenings M-F from 5-8. Preferably at 7:45 when the sun is setting over the sound. Kill Devil Hills is the preferred location.

Though this does sound like I am trying to pick someone up, honestly, I am not. I simply need more friends and miss the companionship high school cross country use to provide. Also, this inspired me to reach out. I am a freak, but I need running friends.

Sunday Funday

Adam and I call Sunday Funday because it's the only day of the week that both of us get off.

We normally spend the day being lazy with Lola, until neither one of us can stand it anymore. We often venture into the world because we're hungry and need food or groceries for the upcoming week. This Sunday Funday we ventured a little farther from home over the Oregon Inlet bridge, farther South than Adam has ever been and to the New Inlet where we got our lines a little wet, though we found more salad than seafood for dinner.

Does anyone know what type of fish that is?

Plus a videos of the critters we found!

Wondering what the noise is? We're standing underneath a bridge and the wind is whipping like crazy.

DAHLONEGA, GA // TRAVELS

I've been MIA this week, but for a good cause. I'm furthering my education by attending STS Marketing College. In 3 years, I will be a certified TMP.
